When I
first met Oli, he had obviously never met a stranger. He jumped out of
the car and ran right to me. He walked into the house like he had lived
here all his life. He's is crate trained and very comfortable there. He
is a HUGE cuddler and loves to just sit on the couch with you and be
pet. His favorite activities include getting his belly rubbed and
playing with his toy, but he is great about self entertaining. He will
play with his toys on his own without having to have interaction.
Oli's preliminary evaluation showed some tensing during the resource guarding test, so his foster mom immediately worked on that and nipped it in the bud. He doesn't have any issues with people around his food or taking his treats/toys. He is easy to correct when he is misbehaving, one of his only bad manners being that he will jump up when excited. He is a great bed buddy and currently sleeps in the bed with his foster mommy. He bonds well with other dogs, and will do well in a home with or without other dogs or cats that are his size or smaller. He doesn't get along well with larger dogs. He is fairly decent when walking on a leash, but could use a little more trianing in that area. Although he has improved, he still needs work to not be a "counter surfer". He is food motivated, so training is not much of a challenge. He learns quickly! His foster mommy would love to keep him, but to keep him would mean she wouldn't be able to save anymore dogs by fostering. His ideal home would be with other dogs 40lbs and under. He does well with kids. He needs to be in a home that will give him plenty of attention and doesn't mind playing fetch. His personality is sure to entertain! Oli's Adoption Fee is $125 |
